This is Geeetech upgraded single head MK8 extruder, which has outstanding quality and the best performance for DIY and professional systems. By simply adding a holder, you can assemble your own dual head extrusion.
With 42BYGHW818 stepper motor, you will find it easy to solve the problems of uneven extrusion, regularly plugging and material reloading.

My extruder arrived quite quickly but was missing the metal fixing plate. I had written a note with the order too. It would be better if it was listed on the store so people could just order it. I am quite disapointed as I will have to try and make one. I am restoring a Geeetech i3 and it was missing. Happy New Year of the Dragon!

No, A20 is assembled with borden extruder, and MK8 is a direct extruder.

Hi, I bought the upgraded mK8 extruder because I had troube pushing the filament with the old one but there were no error, when I changed it to the new one I got an err:MINTEMP. I tried to put the old back and I got same error. On some forum they say it's the termistor problem but before I changed to the upgraded I had no problem and now I got the problem for bot..

I have this extruder on my I3 X. Can I print PETG with this? The motor seems to have trouble pushing the filament even at temperatures around 250C.

I was thinking of changing the extruder with mixer, which gives jamming problems, for this is simple. It would connect the injection servomotor to one of the ports of the two that it has and it would calibrate it to 100% of injection, and the probe with the resistance in its place.

left or right, it depends on you, you can see the release handle from the picture, if you want to make a dual extruder, make sure the release handle is opposite with your current one. If this picture is the same with yours, please leave a message when checking out that you need a opposite one. this one is for short distance feeding.

Hello, I received the Geeetech MK8 dual extruder tonight, looks great. I wired it up to replace the dual extruder in my Makerbot Replicator 2x. I powered it up and the extruders do not heat up. After some time I would get an error message to check connections. I triple checked the wiring and everything matches the way it was with the makerbot extruder. Any ideas? Please help me troubleshoot this, burned an entire night trying to get this fixed. Thanks

Is there a guide or manual for this? Mine is not feeding properly and I can't find any type of instructions or guidance for setting this up and adjusting it. My stepper just keeps clicking and not feeding which tells me it's probably too tight and needs adjusting. There is of course a threaded bolt sticking out of it but that doesn't seem to actually change anything.

I purchased one of these but am having issues with it not feeding. It makes a clicking sound and the filament bobs up and down instead of feeding through. I can't find any guidance on properly adjusting it.
I recently purchased a Prusa i3 X printer that comes with an MK8 extruder. The wiki docs claim that the MK8 has a 7mm drive gear, but, when I opened it up to inspect the gear, I saw that it was actually ~10.6mm gear, which I believe is the older gear on the MK7. Can someone please explain why this is?

I recently purchased an assembled MK 8 extruder for my Makerbot Replicator 2. When I tried to install the extruder, the unit was too tall and I had to modify the exiting mount for the side fan that blows air onto the part. It also came with a Thermistor installed, instead of a thermocouple, which is required by the Replicator 2. I replaced the thermistor. With everything assembled and connected then the stepper motor didn't work!. I found out that it was wired different then the Replicator 2. I could have used the cable that came with the MK8, but I would have had to splice the cable since the connector on the Replicator 2 was different. After re-wiring the stepper motor, by swapping two of the wires, the stepper motor worked fine. After all that, the new assembly is up and running and my Replicator 2 is working better than it ever has. It prints every time without uneven extrusions and clogging. I got it working, but on the downside a novice might have problems getting it to work. The quality of the unit is excellent, but installation is a bear.
