  • Daniel Leiva | 12/31/2016

Hello, Is this extruder compatible with the geeetech m201?

    • rita xiang | 01/04/2017

it is not comatible with M201, can you tell me what kind of modification do you want to do with your M201?

      • Daniel Leiva gallardo | 01/04/2017

I was thinking of changing the extruder with mixer, which gives jamming problems, for this is simple. It would connect the injection servomotor to one of the ports of the two that it has and it would calibrate it to 100% of injection, and the probe with the resistance in its place.

Hi, Is this assembled extruder left or right ? long or short distance ? Thank you.

    • rita xiang | 06/07/2016

left or right, it depends on you, you can see the release handle from the picture, if you want to make a dual extruder, make sure the release handle is opposite with your current one. If this picture is the same with yours, please leave a message when checking out that you need a opposite one. this one is for short distance feeding.

  • Charlie Lowell | 03/06/2016

I purchased a Geeetech Prusa i3 ProC dual extruder printer a few months ago. Will this model replace an extruder on my printer? I damaged a heated end when threading in the nozzle. If it fits, I'd like to buy two.

    • Quentin Qiu | 03/07/2016

Hello, MK8 can be used on i3 pro C. But MK8 has two types, one is LEFT and the other is RIGHT, so please confirm it with the sales when you purchase. Thank you.

      • Charlie Lowell | 03/07/2016

I submitted a request regarding the order I placed yesterday to send me one of each rather that two of the same, which I presumed to be left (according to the images). Let's hope so!

        • Quentin Qiu | 03/08/2016

Hello Charlie, you can confirm it with the sales if you are not sure. Thank you.

  • Chris Mauzy | 02/26/2016

Hello, I received the Geeetech MK8 dual extruder tonight, looks great. I wired it up to replace the dual extruder in my Makerbot Replicator 2x. I powered it up and the extruders do not heat up. After some time I would get an error message to check connections. I triple checked the wiring and everything matches the way it was with the makerbot extruder. Any ideas? Please help me troubleshoot this, burned an entire night trying to get this fixed. Thanks

    • Quentin Qiu | 02/28/2016

Hi Chris, you can contact this e-mail technical@geeetech.com for technical support. Thank you.

  • James Burke | 02/16/2016

Is there a guide or manual for this? Mine is not feeding properly and I can't find any type of instructions or guidance for setting this up and adjusting it. My stepper just keeps clicking and not feeding which tells me it's probably too tight and needs adjusting. There is of course a threaded bolt sticking out of it but that doesn't seem to actually change anything.

    • Quentin Qiu | 02/23/2016

  • James Burke | 02/16/2016

I purchased one of these but am having issues with it not feeding. It makes a clicking sound and the filament bobs up and down instead of feeding through. I can't find any guidance on properly adjusting it.

  • Pablo Romero | 02/14/2016

I recently purchased a Prusa i3 X printer that comes with an MK8 extruder. The wiki docs claim that the MK8 has a 7mm drive gear, but, when I opened it up to inspect the gear, I saw that it was actually ~10.6mm gear, which I believe is the older gear on the MK7. Can someone please explain why this is?

    • Quentin Qiu | 02/23/2016

Sorry for the late reply, for sales, delivery and replacement question please contact this e-mail sales@geeetech.com Please describe your question and provide your order number in your e-mail and my colleague in sales department will help you to solve your problem. Thank you

  • Donald Heihn | 05/13/2015

I recently purchased an assembled MK 8 extruder for my Makerbot Replicator 2. When I tried to install the extruder, the unit was too tall and I had to modify the exiting mount for the side fan that blows air onto the part. It also came with a Thermistor installed, instead of a thermocouple, which is required by the Replicator 2. I replaced the thermistor. With everything assembled and connected then the stepper motor didn't work!. I found out that it was wired different then the Replicator 2. I could have used the cable that came with the MK8, but I would have had to splice the cable since the connector on the Replicator 2 was different. After re-wiring the stepper motor, by swapping two of the wires, the stepper motor worked fine. After all that, the new assembly is up and running and my Replicator 2 is working better than it ever has. It prints every time without uneven extrusions and clogging. I got it working, but on the downside a novice might have problems getting it to work. The quality of the unit is excellent, but installation is a bear.

    • Anxiang Weng | 05/14/2015

It is thermistor. MK8 has a thermistor.
