3.2 TFT display module in 8-bit mode?

The 3.2 display module works fine in 16-bit mode, but a customer needs to use it in 8-bit mode to spare 8 pins of the arduino (speed is not a problem). The screen controller (SSD1289) is able to operate in 8-bit mode, but how to put the module in this mode? Is it possible?

Hi friend,
The 3.2" TFT Lcd (ssd1289) can't be changed to operate in 8 bit mode. The 2.4" TFT display can work in the 8 bit mode.
