When you are tormented by nasty pauses during printing.

Post by _kaktus_ » Sun Oct 14, 2018 3:50 pm

Warm regards my mates, who use the M201.

I expect that from time to time you are tormented by unexpected pauses during printing. :?
The result is that the printer dies without movement during printing, with the head lowered, and the hot end melts the model created.
Sometimes this state lasts longer and sometimes shorter. It is not known what it depends on.

This state of affairs accompanied me quite often when the printer was newly built.
For today, it happens to me quite rarely, but still.

I expected this phenomenon to be the result of transmission errors, but I wasn't 100% sure about it.
I made some efforts to reduce the possibility of any electromagnetic interference.
Still, my printer doesn't have wires attached yet ... just some of them are still hanging chaotically.

This nasty pause torments me less often. But it doesn't want to give way.

Today I will tell you how to circumvent this nasty failure. :D

Personally, I really like to use Repetier-Host. The program is very intuitive and easy to use.
It also has very interesting options and possibilities.

.
In this way we will restore peace of mind. :D

In addition, we can read in the user manual of this program:
The last button “OK” fakes a receiving ok from the printer. If your printer stalls, it may be simply because the firmware send an ok and only the o or k was received. In that case, hitting ok can restart the printing process.
:P

I also use repetier + repetier server for remote printing.
I haven't printed with repetier using direct USB connection though. But via Repetier Server have had 0 issues.

Did you try to print the same using SD Card?
By the way repetier 2.1.3 is out... Try upgrading...

Hi.

I've never printed from a memory card before, I like to have everything under control.

The program is also up to date, but on the computer from which I print. ;)

Saving the gcode to memory card and printing from it is usually the most reliable and safest way to go, as printing isn't affected by usb or computer's stability...

Hi.

I think you are not mistaken in this regard. ;)
But you would have to read forum posts from before you became a user.

I'll tell you in confidence that some series of printers has its whims.
