[problem] Y axis endstops / z axis only go upward

Post by Stedounet » Fri Jun 23, 2017 3:45 pm

Hello,

I just finished building my geeetech i3 pro B and have two problems.

First of all, I checked my problems on several forums and FAQs, and I have not found a solution.

First, Y axis : I can move it without problems, but when I try to get it home, it won't stop at the endstop, so the motor will force.
I already tried to trade two endstops, the detector itself is working, and the issue on Y axis was still there.
Is it the mainboard ? What can I try ?

Now, Z axis : it can now move well (left motor used to struggle a lot), but only upward, and if I try home it still go upward (for maybe 5mm, then stops)
Note : I loosened left motors screw so that it can now work properly

Thank you for helping me,

Have a good day,

I managed to fix bugs by trying to invert endstops MIN and directions

Now it all move well except endstop won't trigger when I home with z and y axis

Have you checked to make sure you have the switches in the Min port on the board and not the Max? If they re wrong the printer will keep moving the axis because it is looking for close on Min not Max.

Read this post and see if it helps. I will look at my printer settings when I get home tomorrow.

When you command the motors are they moving there correct direction? They just move away from the eve switch when you hit The home button.

What program are you using to control the printer?

Hello, thank you helping !

Actually I'm not sure, I will try to disable min ports and test with max ports
It's supposed to be minports, they are close to motors

I found my solution :

Try G - code in repetier host : m119
You will see when endstop is triggered or not

My problem was : advised tutorial showed how to wire endstop, and it was wrong...
It was showing (from left to right) endstop x, endstop y and endstop Z
For my model (geeetech i3 pro b), it was endstop x MIN, endstop x MAX, endstop y MIN etc etc

m119 showed me expected results

I'm using easyPrint3D,i think the steppers works well, becuase when i tell go up they do that, but the home is the wrong direction.

I was searching, some people said that i have to change the firmware, i don´t know how to do it or if it's correct.

My sensor are well connected and the max and min are okay too
