Problem with Aluminium Prusa I3 assembly

I have a problem where the rods for the extruder assembly seem too be too tight. They did not fit in the x-axis end caps. The linear bearings are also tight on the round bars and will not move freely.
The horizontal bars seem to be 5/16 whereas the vertical bars are 8 mm. How do I fix it?

I used the file to enlarge the holes until the rod just fit. I also took the time to lube the bearings and run them over the rod to get them moving smoothly.
