stepper motor always become uneven

Post by jortner » Mon Jul 25, 2016 5:48 am

I have a GEEETECH Prusa I3 Pro X and before every print I have to level my Z axis. After I level the axis it becomes uneven every time I move the Z axis up or down. Has anyone else have this problem? And is there any fix to this problem?

Thanks,
Jason

Hi,Jason
You mean the Z axis wobbled?Or it made a noise?I think you should make sure you had kept the two sides of Z axis in a straight line by adjusting the two couplings of Z axis every time you level your Z axis.

I doesn't seem to wobble or make any usual noise. after every movement one side will be slightly higher than the other. It seems like one stepper motor is maybe moving faster or rotating more than the other.

Hi,
It is probable not,cuz the two Z motors are driven by the same driver. Maybe your X-axis left end(M1) and X-axis right end(M2) are not staying in a straight line.Like the following pic,you can adjust the couplings to change it:

How do you would you adjust the couplings?

Thanks

Have you checked it?Are your two sides staying a line? You can rotate the couplings to adjuest it.Let me know if it doesn't work.A video would be appreciated.
