Switching from LCD2004 to 12864 LCD

Hey, I've recently bought a full graphic smart display that says "for ramps 1.4".
I was told by a friend that it would work with the Sanguinolulo board that the aluminum prusa comes with, but the connector between the board and the lcd cables are very different from ramps to my board.
Do I just use my own connector that the lcd2004 came with or is this not compatible?

The red one is the one that came with the new lcd and the white one is the old one.

That looks just like the adapter that I've got right now, is that adapter with this display compatible with the board that im using?
Or am i gonna end up with a blank screen after trying.
I know that i have to change the firmware confirugration and set it to the "rep rap discount smart controller.." but the real question is, will this work?
