3D Systems has announced its partnership with U.S Army Research Laboratory, America’s premier research center for land forces. This partnership is to jointly develop 3D printing technology and materials for automotive, medical, wearable, aerospace, and other commercial and defense applications at the Army’s Aberdeen Proving Ground at Maryland.

3D Systems’ staff will serve as guest researchers, combining with the ARL’s material scientists on site at the proving ground, which serves as a place to test military weapons, technology, and tactics for the U.S. Army. The main target of the agreement is to develop hybridized 3D printing manufacturing applications.
