This J-Head Hot End is designed based on other nozzle. It's very simple by reducing the number of custom machined parts to a bare minimum. The J-Head Hot End can easily and well interface with the most popular RepRap extruders.

The filament path is same with the one of an already proven design, it can be used to print reliably with both ABS and PLA. If using PLA, it requires a small fan to provide air-flow through the cooling vents milled in the sides of the nozzle holder. Besides, the Hot End has another two advantages.

Heat transmission is more efficiency as there is no thermal junction where a separate heater screws onto the nozzle. And a resistor is used as a heater. There is no need to wrap nichrome wire or to bake a heater core.



4 optional nozzle size:  0.3mm, 0.35mm, 0.4mm, 0.5mm

2 optional filament size: 1.75mm, 3.00mm

    This piece works great with PLA! I Ordered it for 3mm, then bought PTFE tubing locally, inserted, and after calibrating my settings on my printer, this works perfectly! I have no problem what so ever with this, and as I only print PLA, I am buying another one for 0.3mm. Great clone Geeetech!

      Thanks Christian, thanks for your sharing, we issued metal version J-heads, you can try to use it which also have a better perfomance.

        The "problem" with metal J-heads is that the PLA gets weird already at 60-70 degress, and the PLA then solidifies before the actual brass head. This is why I may chose one 3mm version with inserted PTFE tube, and a 1.7mm for ABS and other high-temp plastics.

    But you answered Valter it had PTFE inside. The problem is, the aluminum loss heat too quickly thus solidifies the filament in the joint between peek and aluminum. This is a poor MK-V clone, Geeetech could do better.
