I want to swap to an e3d v6 hot end and maybe a titan or dual bowden extruder setup. Do you offer any kits to do this or can I get the stl files to make my own carriage?

Hi, I bought a Prusa i3 X PRO. It moves in the wrong direction in the x axis. Where can I download the last firmware to upgrade? Regards

    • Zina Luo | 02/22/2017

    • Hannah Rydlo | 03/24/2017

If you take the white end part of the cord that goes into you x axis motor and flip it around, you will then reverse the direction. However, there is a little part the will stop you from plugging it in, you can just cut that off.

      • Zina Luo | 03/25/2017

Hi Hannah ,what happened to your pro x printer ? if reverse the direction .pls take here for a reference :http://www.geeetech.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=17037.

Hi, I bought this printer a few days ago and i have just finish the building today. But when I want to connect my printer with my computer with Repetier, the extruder is not heating, the x motor is turning in the wrong direction and the z motors look not to work. Must I re-upload the firmware and if Yes, how does it work to put it on my printer? Thank you very much.

    • rita xiang | 01/04/2017

Hello Pierre, did you follow all the instructions on the manual? For the motor direction, please change it in the firmware, you can refer to this instruction, if you do not know how to do it, please contact our tech support. http://www.geeetech.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=17037

i just built it, it was roughly a 8 hour build. but the "auto home" button wont do anything. i click it and it jerks and does nothing any help?

    • rita xiang | 12/26/2016

did you check the wiring of all the stepper motors?

  • Steven J Harkins | 12/08/2016

I recently received my Prusa i3 X from you. Upon getting ready to put it together I noticed that the rods are not all straight. Some of the rods have a slight bend to them. I am new to the 3D printer world and don't know much but it seems to me that the rods would have to be absolutely straight or alignment issues might arise. What do you suggest?

    • rita xiang | 12/08/2016

Hello Steven, please do not worry, can you please send us clear pictures to technical@geeetech.com, we will check it for you.

  • Ron Joven | 12/02/2016

I am very satisfied with my 3D printer! totally worth it! Very easy to work with PLA. I have been using it for 1 year and I have printed parts as big as 180x180x100. I have a question: any trick to print ABS? It is not sticking to the aluminium bed... I am using 240C in the extruder and the max temp in the bed (75C). Also, the minimum speed was set to 50mm/s. But still it does not get sticked on the Al bed. I would appreciate any guidance.

    • rita xiang | 12/04/2016

I am glad to hear that. When you print with ABS, did you add glue to the aluminium bed to help the filament addict to the bed?

  • Sergio Alves | 11/19/2016

Hi. This is to offer feedback to Geeetech and to anyone interested on this printer. I got my Prusa I3 X in July 2015, from Geeetech. I have been using it for more than one year and I could not be more satisfied. The printer takes a while to assemble but the assembly is straight forward and simple. I was careful with the wires and applied thread-lock on all screws and nuts. After more than one year, all motors, electronics, software, panel, extruder, belts, bearings, switches, etc, are still original and working finely. I have successfuly printed objects in PLA, ABS, Nylon and PETG with no problem. Sure, ABS is a terrible for bigger parts. I recently replaced it with Hi Temp PLA. More expensive but MUCH better than ABS. My only complain about this printer: it could be more silent. Well, that's all. Have fun!

  • Francesco De Fina | 11/14/2016

Hi, Is it possible to get the drawing for parts so I can print a new one ? Can you send me the firmware for this printer? Thanks.

I bought this printer and I have two problems. The Y axis does not work in the negative direction. (The engine is good because I changed it with Axis X and it worked well, the Motor Driver is also good because I also changed with Axis X and it worked properly.) When trying to solve the problem I did Firmware update (marlin), and now nothing works nor the LCD. I tried to download the firmware here: http://www.geeetech.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=17046#p27625 ------ 1. For board GT2560 and sanguinololu: Viewtopic.php? • Luis Fernando Diaz | 03/20/2016

Hello, my Z motors aren't working. They don't show in the 'move axis' menu and doesn't move when auto home. It's not a mechanical failure, as I have detached the bars, and they don't 'sound'. Using the connector from the other axis (x or y) would make them work perfectly, so it's not a problem with the internals of the motors.

    • james zou | 03/23/2016

  • Selin Capkin | 02/26/2016

which stepper motors are used on this printer?

  • Selin Capkin | 02/26/2016

Hi, I bought this printer a few weeks ago, and it works ok. I see a lot of people asking here for the lates firmware, why should I download the latest firmware? Are there any differences with the one I currently have? Also, what steppers motors are used, because I want to change the E steps of the extruder?

    • Quentin Qiu | 02/28/2016

Hi, the firmware is a necessary for running the printer. The printer can't work without it. If you purchase our whole printer, it has been loaded with the firmware before the delivery(But we don't test them). So usually there is no need of reloading the firmware unless there is someting wrong with your printer. For example: the direction of the motor is reverse, and you can solve this problem through reloading the firmware. If your printer is working well, there is no need of reloading the firmware. The firmware on your printer is already the latest. You can see the specifications of this printer: Stepper Motors: 1.8°step angle with 1/16 micro-stepping. Thank you.

  • Maxime Chevrier | 02/06/2016

Hi Quentin, can you tell me why everyone is asking for firmware. Should I update it on th I3-X i bought a few mounth ago? If so, can you send it to me by email maxime.chevrier@gmail.com. If I want to upgrade it to a dual extuder, what are the parts needed and the steps to do it? Thanks

    • Quentin Qiu | 02/17/2016

Hi, the firmware is a necessary for running the printer. The printer can't work without it. If you purchase our wohle printer, it has been loaded with the firmware before the delivery(But we don't test them). So usually there is no need of reloading the firmware unless there is someting wrong with your printer. For example: the direction of the motor is reverse, and you can solve this problem through reloading the firmware. If you want to upgrade I3X to dual extruders ,please contact our sales, they have the whole upgrade kit. Thank you

  • Kyle Phillipson | 01/29/2016

Question about the power supply. The WIKI shows that the supplied PSU is DC12V/0-20A. The one shipped is a DC12V/0-15a. The 15a is under powered for ABS prints. The heat bed takes 15 minutes to heat up. Please contact me at my profile email address.

    • Quentin Qiu | 01/31/2016

Hi Kyle, the power supply should be 15A,just as shown in the specification of I3X on this page: Output:DC12V/15A It's better to use ABS glue when you're printing with ABS. The wiki is wrong, we will correct it and thank you for your feedback.

Can you please send the CAD file and latest firmware? my email: mjmunroe@gmail.com Also, can i print directly on the aluminum plate or should i use tape or glass on top? Thank you.

Sorry for the late reply. Please ask the seller of the store where you buy your printer to give you the CAD file. The firmware has been sent to you. You can print directly on aluminum plate, but you can use glass on top to get better printing effect because glass is more flat.

  • David McCoy | 01/19/2016

yes hi, I have a geeetech I3 X and I wished that I would have bought the M201 any way do you have an upgrade kit for my I3 X to your M201 it was surprising to see that after I bought my I3X for 350.00 and then I see that your M210 is only 30.00 more, well I hope that you do...also I have not even started to assemble my I3X yet so if we can do it now is the time to acquire the different parts for the upgrade to the M201. please let me know, thank you.

    • Quentin Qiu | 01/19/2016

Hello David, yes you can upgrade I3X to M201, they are the same in structure. The control board of I3X is GT2560,but M201 uses GTM32. And M201 is 2-in-1-out extruder. What you have to change are control board, power supply and extruder. If you want to purchase the parts, please contact the sales. Thank you. BTW, I3X is also a good printer to use.
