Works properly now. In all the changes I managed to switch the SERVO0 pin to 32 and not 30. With abit of adjustment of the Z offset it looks perfect.

However now suddenly the BED + Extruder doesnt heat up. GT2560 A+ leds doesnt light up next to the mosfets.

@Kristoffer,

I received my 3Dtouch sensor today an going to install it on my CTC pro B (Geeetech clone) printer with a 2560 clone motherboard and original Marlin 1.1.3 installed.

I looking for a working configuration example of the configuration.h and pins.h files because the Geeetech wiki refers to a Marlin 1.0.x version.

Do you have Marlin 1.1.x running and can you provide me with the 3Dtouch config for this?

Kind regards,

Edautz

Please be aware that you need to adjust the config to fit your setup, most importantly:

Code: Select all

#define X_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER 5  // X offset: -left  +right  [of the nozzle]
#define Y_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER -41  // Y offset: -front +behind [the nozzle]
#define Z_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER -2.20   // Z offset: -below +above  [the nozzle]
Since you are using a GT2560 clone it should be correct with:

Code: Select all

#define Z_MIN_PROBE_PIN 11
Im using UBL probing, if you want to use something else change this code:

Code: Select all

//#define AUTO_BED_LEVELING_3POINT
//#define AUTO_BED_LEVELING_LINEAR
//#define AUTO_BED_LEVELING_BILINEAR
#define AUTO_BED_LEVELING_UBL
//#define MESH_BED_LEVELING

@Kristoffer,

Thnx for your quick reply.

I made a first config based on Marlin 1.1.3 but ran in two problems.

My 2560board doen not have the connector with the pin 11.

Modified the zmax connector to get the extra power pin and make modification in pins_ultimaker.h.

But my 2560 board has a mega1280 avr with only 128K flash size. And the compiled hex is to big. Tried with Marlin 1.1.1 but stays to big.

I going to try another level method and older marlin version, to see if I can size the hex size down.

If not I have to convert to a ramps 1.4 setup with a mega 2560 on it with 256 flash size, but cost me a while.

You can show me more details about the issue,or you can attach a video from Youtube.
PS.There is no need to use a Z limit switch with 3D-Touch(3D-Touch detects 5 points on the bed.).
Hi I have the same problems. I feel that the sensor is broken because it never active the z min

Manage to compile Marlin 1.1.3 with autobed leveling bilinear choise, which uses less flash space and also disable some unused features.

Just fits in the 128K flash space.

Connected the 3D touch to the zmin and zmax connectors using pin 32 in the configuration for the zmax connection.

I got the bltouch menu in the lcd menu and the 3dtouch is homing fine.

M280 P0 S10 ; pushes the pin down
M280 P0 S90 ; pulls the pin up
M280 P0 S120 ; Self test – keeps going until you do pin up/down or release alarm
M280 P0 S160 ; Release alarm

Are working fine.

Next step is adjust the correct height and z calibration and test the bed leveling, according to this video:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OoWP5C8lSig

I suppose it will work for the 3D touch too with a Z -8,3 mm offset between 3D touch case bottom and the nozzle?

1) Use latest Marlin source, I never got the old geetech marlin to work with my 3dtouch
2) Check so you got the correct pin assigned in marlin code (BLTOUCH_PIN something, should be 11 for GT2560 A+ and 32 otherwise)

Using UBL

1) gcode "G28" then "G29"
2) Move the Z-axis down to 0 (using printpanel), if the z_offset is wrong (nozzle to close or too far away from bed) then adjust the Z_offset and repeat the process.
3) If using UBL and youve finished the above processes you need to do "G29 P1" that measures the bed, then add "G29 A" into the startup script.

My sensor is performing terribly.
When I probe at the center of the bed repeatedly using G30 X110 Y110 I'm getting a variance of up to 0.25mm. Average is probably 0.10mm between probes...
I've tried tightening and loosening the screw, but it doesn't make any difference.

The pin seems to have a lot of play inside the sensor. Sometimes it looks like it's dropping down a bit to the side...

Does anyone have a clue?
