pausing print

Post by spanner » Sat Apr 23, 2016 4:10 pm

I would like to stop the printing when doing a long print ie 1 hr or more to clean the nozzle . I want to pause the print move the x axis to home whilst leaving "y " and "Z " where they are , then hit resume and continue . I have worked out that I can add instructions to the G -code but am not sure exactly how to do it.
help always appreciated .spanner

Just click "pause print" and home the X axis, then resume print after clean the hotend, no need to modify the gcodes, repetier host has this function.

Hi Mark,

Thanks again for your help again but, when I hit pause it does stop but over the part, it does not zero on X which is what I want, I am printing from a SD card at the moment ,does that make the difference ?

oh I thought you were printing with the USB, and in that case you can home the X axis manually and quickly. But I don't know how to do this using the SD card, sorry mate.
