Nothing will stick

Post by trippin » Thu Feb 06, 2020 3:58 am

Hello everybody.

I have purchased a A20 printer and have assembled it correctly.
Additionally I bought White PLA from Geeetech.
I have the problem that the first layer will not stick, whatever I try.
I thought this was a leveling issue, so I bought a 3D Touch Autoleveler and set it up properly, but even that didn't help. I have tried everything I could find about this on the forum, but nothing helped. I printed via SD, I tried to use the Geeetech software to print.
My initial thought was that the bed is too cold at 50°, so I tried to set it to 80° once via software and once in the printer itself. The printer completely ignored that setting, and kept heating the bed up to 50° and no further.
Also, while the nozzle preheats, some of the filament comes out already and when the printer starts printing the first layer, that filament pushes everything that is printed off the bed.
At this point I have no clue what else I could and am really frustrated.

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Hi,If you are a Mylar version, the distance between the nozzle and the hot bed is the distance between two sheets of leveling paper. For the glass plate version, the distance between the hot bed and the nozzle is the distance of one sheet of leveling paper. You can also check whether the hot bed itself is uneven, or whether the engagement between the hot end and the guide rail is loose.

thank you for your reply!
Is the filament supposed to come out of the nozzle before the print starts?
During preheat a "clump' of filament always comes out and sticks to the nozzle.
That clump pushes everything that gets printed off the bed instantly and doesn't give the printer a chance to print the first layer

Hi,consumables will come out during the warm-up process. You can try to clean the consumables before printing.
