Geeetech A10 crashes into Bed with Bltouch

Post by hpposch » Wed Jun 12, 2019 2:04 pm

Hello,

i am facing a strange problem.
I had my geeetech a10 installed correctly with my bltouch.
Everything seems to work fine since the print of the Dog came out very well.

But from one moment to the other, my print-head crashed into the bed.
So i tried to level it again but it keeps on crashing into the bed.

It is not possible that anything is attached wrong, since it already work with automatic bed leveling and so on...
I am really getting frustrated since i got my printer last week and i just can not get i working :(

I tried flashing the firmware with Arduino 1.8.5 and 1.8.9 always same results.
The firmware i use is Marlin 1.1.8 from here: https://github.com/Geeetech3D/Prusa_I3_ ... 8_3DTtouch

Can someone please help me with that, i really have no more ideas what i can do.
I am already thinking of sending the printer back, because the support is not responding either.

Thanks in advance for your help.
Peter

Hi,you can try to take out the needle and magnetize it.
And you can refer to this :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDfGZ4bjxiM
-Keep your mind and try to test it. :)
-Everything will be fun!-Support all Getech printer.
-You can ask me the questions and I will kindly reply.

Hi, I have exactly the same problem and symptoms.

Auto-Level works fine, until I try to start a print which includes auto-level at start of print. Then the head crashes into the bed.

There must be a problem in the firmware somewhere. I have tried several versions, but the behaviour is the same.

Has anyone found the real cause of this?

Did you guys set up the Z Offset correctly ? I've read someone who stated about the Bltouch...that one hasn't the metal probe but it's plastic ( the smart V3 ) so nothing about magnetizing..it's a z offset problem - related...wich has to be set !

I just installed my BLtouch and had the same issue.
It was due to not setting the Z offset correctly (i set it and didnt save it and after restarting the printer it dug into the bed).
I got +3.2 for an offset.
Curious to see what others got to compare.
Using V2 BLtouch, set at 3mm from bed for sensor clearance.

I installed a BLTouch v1 on my A10 yesterday, and followed this video guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_RtsZDbR2po.

The video says to keep 1.5mm of clearance with the bed, so I used feeler gauges to get exactly 1.5mm of clearance. The Z offset is -1.5.

Hello
Remember that each Time you do G28 (Home axis), you must do a g29 (bed leveling) unless you modify your firmware .
Because g28 reset your bed leveling.

Marlin page :
Any arguments left out of G29 will use the default values set in Configuration.h.

G28 disables bed leveling. Follow with M420 S to turn leveling on, or use RESTORE_LEVELING_AFTER_G28 to automatically keep leveling on after G28.
