Need for Heated Bed adhesive's?

Post by Chub » Sun Jan 13, 2019 2:49 am

At work we apply an adhesive to the heated bed before we print to allow the part to detach easier. Do I need to do this with the super plate? Is it not needed but a good idea? There are different adhesives for different materials.
Thanks

I have printed using nothing and it works great honestly. But I use hairspray on my print bed specifically the Aqua Net Hair Spray I have used this hairspray and you can buy it for a couple bucks just about anywhere. I have had the most success with this hairspray and its adhesion. I have also used blue masking tape which works marvels as well, but I dont recommend it as much as the hairspray. You can even use the stick glue on it, which I haven't tried yet on this bed, just not a big fan of that method.

Sorry about the rant, But long story short no you shouldn't need anything, but for some prints, it is probably a good idea. I just use the hairspray method on all my prints.
