When facing my printer. I have the right z motor attached to the single z port on the motherboard. For the Y motor I have it connected to the longest wire on the 3-1 connection wire. X motor is attached to the shortest wire. The left z motor is attached to the medium wire.

I have tried using the different wires of the 3-1 connection on the x motor to test it. For example I tried using the med length wire on the 3-1 connection on the x motor. The x motor did indeed move but obviously since wire was wrong it didn't move in the correct direction as wanted. This did verify that the motor worked though.

When the X motor is attached to the shortest length wire though, I get no feed back at all. While my Y motor works fine and my Z motor works (also still trying to fix Z motor from getting stuck)

Hi.

I published a photograph on which you can see the order of the coloured wires of the cable in the connector.
Did you compare the view with what you have?
In my case, the order of the wires in the common connector was incorrect.
I saw other errors in the user pictures.
Tell me which topics you have already familiarized yourself with :?:

Thank you for taking your time to help me problem solve, I also apologize if my questions are dumb lol (completely new to all this). Attached below is a image of my wiring. I understand it is very easy to mess up the wiring. But the 3-1 wire can only connect one way onto the motherboard, so there isn't room for much error. Only thing i can think of is if the wires to the stepper motors are wrong.

On page 74 of the assembly instruction manual (where i downloaded from http://www.geeetech.com/forum/viewtopic ... 77&t=62088) it shows the wire configuration as (Z-Y-X) which is the configuration that i have mine at.

on page 76 though it shows (X-Y-Z) which i can't try since the plug wont fit that way.

I have the Z wires attached to both stepper motors on the bottom. X wire attached to the stepper motor above the left Z motor. Y motor attached to the stepper motor controlling the movement of the base plate.

At the moment this seems to be one problem i don't know what i did wrong. I also have another problem of the Z axis still being stuck but from digging around the forum i believe i can figure it out. Just need to fiddle with it and try all the solutions. I just don't understand why the x- axis won't move.

I don't know if this is maybe the cause but when assembling the printer. When I tried to turn on the printer for first time it wouldn't turn on. Till i saw a tiny switch on the power supply indicating "220v and 110v). I turned it to 110v and the printer turned on. If set on 220v the printer will not turn on.

Hi.
:D

If I can, I will help every M201 user.
One condition does not tolerate laziness. Of course, I don't consider you lazy.
Starting and calibrating a DIY printer is not an easy task. It requires a lot of experience and knowledge. I published a lot of news on our subforum. Knowing them will protect you from many problems. That's why I pay so much attention to it.

OK. You showed a photo of the connector in the motherboard. Compare the order of colors at the other end of each cable.

The errors are due to poor quality control on the GT side. It's difficult for a new user to grasp them. This is understandable, after all, everything is new for him, and he trusted his manufacturer ...

Don't blame yourself for nothing, just be very attentive, consistent and persistent :!:

The author of the subject which you linked did not find an error in the order of the cables in his plug. Maybe you will try to catch it :?:
This will be a good test for you. Learn from someone else's mistakes.

Consider doubtful everything you see in your model. Compare the view carefully with the photographs on the M201 subforum.

I can't see one stepstick module in your photo. :D It should be embedded in this empty socket.

The old version M201 default X axis motor wires is a little short.
Try to replace it to a longer one wires.
-Keep your mind and try to test it. :)
-Everything will be fun!-Support all Getech printer.
-You can ask me the questions and I will kindly reply.

Hi.
;)

Yes, it is true. I disassembled them from the common plug and I replaced them with a Z-axis cable.

Hi again

Sorry for the delay in replying .. Work has been a pain lately, not had much time to sort this printer out

First up
Many thanks for sending out a new board, 3-in-1 Connector and stepper drivers

Having fitted the new board, and checking all connections
I can confirm the issue with the X-axis is now fixed. The carriage now moves under load and very smoothly

However, I am still having the issue with the Z Axis
I can manually raise the carriage via "disable Steppers" option
On Selecting "Home All" it works as expected. Lowering the Z Axis with ease
If I try to Raise Z Axis by the Control Panel, the motors struggle

Also, on a side note.

From the Manual for this printer (prusa_m201.pdf - Page 26) there is a link for the M201 Slicing Configuration

The link isn't connected to anything

Is there another link for this somewhere?

EDIT+++++++

Found Config .. search engine returned incorrect page
This is correct link

Well it has took a lot of trial and error

But I have finally got the Z Axis problem solved …. I THINK

It turns out it was a simple solution

The Z-Axis End-stop was mis-wired.
As the switch was released it stopped the motor on the drive side

I just swapped the cables over and now the Z-Axis is moving, free and smooth

Now I can, hopefully, get into trying some actual printing

Spoke too soon ...

Now that the X and Z Axis problems are fixed, guess what the new problem is

YEP …… The Y Axis has decided it wants to join in the "Not working" club

It was working perfectly before. Whilst I had the issue with the other axis
Now it is struggling under load

I have tried swapping out the Stepper Motor for others.
Even bought new stepper motors
Still nothing.

I can move by hand, but using the CP struggles.
Home All moves both X and Z axis, but the Y axis barely moves.
I have to physically push the bed to get it to move
Adjusting the belt does nothing

The only solution I am led to is that there is not enough power getting through to the motor
