Newbie - 1st Layer Problem

Post by gerryd646 » Sun Dec 02, 2018 5:54 pm

Hi, Any help would be appreciated,

Newbie (1st Printer) been trying to print this for 6 days.

What I have done:
Leveled, leveled and then leveled and then once more to be sure 😊.
Upgraded the firmware
Bought an Adhesion mat
Using Easyprint 3D – Tweaked a few settings from YouTube videos - Think its called "Baconing"
Tried the Cura Software – To no avail.

Hello.

Parameters important for the first layer are:
  • slower printout,
  • increased dosage of filament,
  • leveled surface,
You have also paid attention to improving adhesion to the ground.
So you are no longer newbie. :D

I did not see in the presented configuration a parameter determining material feeding.

What brand of filament do you use?
Have you tried to change the temperature of the hot end :?:
Do you know this guide?
On the forum I help to use the rod, I don't give fish.
Geeetech Prusa I3 M201 Dual extruder Mixcolor 3D printer, bought 2017-12-19, already built, in the cognitive and improvement phase
Geeetech filament, ABS only
Geeetech 3D WiFi Module for 3D Printer, bought 2018-04-15, He got a new life, and still lies in a drawer.
Positively frenzied customer of Getech Technology.

Hi Kaktus,

Thank you for the fast reply.

I will try slowing down the first layer.
I have tried 200 - 205 - 210 and 220 for the nozzle temperature.

Not sure which parameter in the settings is "material feeding" the 3 pages I included seem to be the only ones i can adjust - Its EasyPrint 3D and the manual that comes with it doesn't really go into detail about each parameter.
I am using the Geetech 1.75mm PLA filament.

I had seen that guide in my troubleshooting research - Wasn't sure which one was my problem - this seemed the closest - https://3dprinting.stackexchange.com/qu ... e-bed/3709 and that's when i bought the mat

Regards

;)
I read the information from the link you posted.
It is worth doing a few tests.

I don't use PLA, but I reduced the thickness of the first layer, setting it like the rest.
But I have set the filament feeding to 130% (with a layer thickness of 0.2mm).

Much depends on the quality of the filament.

Hi.

I am curious about the results of the tests you have carried out.

Thank you for your help Kaktus,

Changed 1st layer height from 0.3 to 0.2mm
I slowed down the first layer speed to 25mm/s from 30
and the material flow from 250 to 225%
All other settings the same.

And Viola it worked.
