Superplate installation

I just purchased a Superplate for my A10. I notice that it comes with self adhesive on the back as well as a set of bulldog clips. Should the plate be stuck onto the aluminum heat bed using the self adhesive? Or should it be laid on top of the existing build surface and clipped on with the bulldog clips.
