3d touch on A10T crashed on 3D printing

Post by gamisi » Sat Apr 11, 2020 5:02 pm

At an advanced stage of printing, the pin of the 3d touch has come out, impacting the print below. The pin has deformed and is no longer retracted. The 3d touch continued to rub on the structure of the object to be printed, deforming it completely, until it broke. I hope that in addition to breaking it has not also damaged the motherboard with some electrical contact.
I think there is a bug in the firmware, because the pin should not have moved in the advanced phase of printing, but only in the first layer.

P. S.

Hi, You can turn the screw on the top of 3d touch to adjust,
Or use magnets to remagnetize the probe.
You can refer to the specific operation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDfGZ4bjxiM
-Keep your mind and try to test it. :)
-Everything will be fun!-Support all Getech printer.
-You can ask me the questions and I will kindly reply.

Thank you for your suggestion. It will be valid for the next 3d touch, because this has completely split into two parts with the electric coil coming out.

I bought a new 3d touch, but unfortunately the situation remains the same.
The problem is not related to degaussing, but to the fact that during the initial layers the 3d touch is activated, probably to check the correct distance of the bed. It's okay if you do it outside the object being printed. Too bad it happens that it does this even above the press.
The consequence is that, when it is good, it destroys the print, when it goes bad in addition to printing, the 3d touch is also damaged.
Is it a firmware problem?

I installed the firmware for A10T (GT2560V4 Support 3Dtouch-Beta) and followed all the configuration steps.

The firmware on the official website is generally ok, can you provide video?

To make the video risk of definitively breaking the second 3d touch to show you when the pin drops and impacts the print below, please believe it. I tell you, so I try to clarify some fundamental things and ask for clarifications on specific points.
For installation and calibration, follow the demonstration video of the Geeetech website. There is nothing else to do. True?
When printing starts the 3d touch positions the extruder in home. Correct?
When the printing starts, the 3d touch moves the pin up and down to test the distance from the bed. Should he do it?
If he has to do it he should do it in places where there is no printing material on the bed. Quite right?
If it doesn't have to do it or it does over printing and it's not a pin magnetization problem there's a firmware problem. Correct hypothesis?
Is there anyone else besides but who is using the beta version of the firmware on A10T?
Thanks.

I know this thread is old, but I've just experienced the same problem. The pin of the 3D Touch dropped in the middle of a 4 hour print. The pin bent badly, but not before causing the X-axis to lose several steps and ruining the print. I've straightened the pin, but am not inclined to re-install the device without some assurance it won't happen again. Note that I had gotten a few prints through the machine before the failure.

Obviously, I cannot tell if the problem is with the 3D Touch or the firmware.

Details of the issue are:

- New A10 (single extruder)
- Current version of firmware with sensor support installed (obtained from Geeetech)
- Sensor worked correctly for several prints before the incident

I've now removed the sensor and reinstalled the firmware that doesn't have sensor support. All is working well, other than some minor layer shifting.

I would appreciate any help or suggestions that you can provide.

Regards,

Randy

I've since found multiple threads dealing with this issue. Got what I need, thanks.
