3D Touch Sensor Issues

I recently purchased a 3DTouch sensor and installed the unit however the device fails its self-test at power up. The pin is only ejected and retracted twice then starts blinking the error condition. I have done the calibration of the grub screw and led as per the video many times and it remains with the same fault. I have also checked the operation of the pin and it moves freely with no points of sticking. Finally I connect up an external 5V DC supply to rule out the main board (GT2560) but the fault remains. It is connected to a Geeetech i3 pro B as per the instructions. I now suspect that the unit may be faulty. Has anyone experienced issues getting the touch sensor to function?

Yeah I went through both those posts as part of my trouble shooting and they contain good information but neither of them seem to be able to help me solve my problem. I tried to attach a video but this site keeps stating the extension is not allowed (tried mp4, flv and wmv). how do I attach a video?

In this one I attempt to calibrate the grub screw but it ends up worse then when I started. I have done this test many times and the best it can get to is shown in the first video.

You can get the pin removed from the sensor,then check if the pin was bent or there's something else wrong with it(check if the black cap on the pin is a little loose).

Then you can send "M280 P0 S10" to check if the sensor works after sending "M280 P0 S160" to release the alarm(if the sensor is flashing).

I removed the pin from the sensor and it looks good, its not bent or showing any signs of damage and the black rubber cap isn't lose and doesn't look to be damaged. I also looked for obstructions inside the plastic case that could jam the pin but their was nothing.

After I reassembled the unit, I sent it the "M280 P0 S160" command which released the alarm and stopped the unit flashing but when I sent it the "M280 P0 S10" it ejected the pin once and then returned to the error condition (blinking). I tried performing a calibration on the grub screw again and it still didn't function correctly (exhibits the same fault).

Could you attach your wiring between the board and the sensor?

Yeah I've been trying to figure this out for about 2 weeks or so.
Connection are as below, I ended up soldering the connections when it first didn't work to rule out a dodgy connection in the pins and plug. I suspect their is something wrong with the driver board on the inside of the unit.
