Geeetech Rambo 1.2G temperature doesn't work

Post by danoravsky » Sat Nov 08, 2014 2:40 am

I have problem with my rambo board which just arrived yesterday from Geeetech. I uploaded marlin and temperature reads are not working.
When there are no thermistors plugged in it reads 39°C and when they are plugged in it reads 41°C as you can see in attached photos.(booth at room temp about 20°C)
I also checked pins and they are configured propperly in marlin. Thermistors are working i used them with another rambo board and firmware is also same from another rambo.(rambo 1.2a also from Geeeetch)
Any suggestions? Is there problem with rambo board?
Thanks

Hi,danoravsky!

Maybe there is a little mistake for the temperature's reading. But when you start heating,i think the temperature value showed on LCD will increase with the heating. Is it right? Now,If you want to display it correctly you can remove the diodes D11、D14、D16 and D18 which are near the thermistors ports.

Best wishes to you!

Hi,
thanks for response! And yes when i start heating up temperature on screen goes up.
But how do you know the unsoldering of those diodes will help? Is it common issue with this iteration of rambo? I'm just curious because i don't want to brick my rambo.

Hi,danoravsky!

I don't know whether it is common issue with this iteration of rambo. But i met the same situation. When there are no thermistors plugged in it, the thermistors ports are about 4.2V rather than 5V.So it reads 39°C but not 0°C.If you can use your board,i hope you don't remove those diodes(D11、D14、D16 and D18) which formed a protection circuit.

Best wishes to you!

Hi star,
No i didn't removed any diodes so is there any solution to this problem?
Have you solved the problem with your rambo when you had same issue?

Hi,
I shorted out resistor R73 and when no therms are connected it reads 0 as it should.
And when start heating up it seems to by ok.

Hi,danoravsky!

How much did you set the temperature of the hot end?And is it labored when you turn it by hand?If so,I hope you can raise the temperature properly(keep it under 260℃)

Best wishes to you!
