Prusa Pro W Build - colour codes wrong in instructions?

Post by JustinSB » Wed Dec 13, 2017 6:17 am

Hi, I'm just busy building my Prusa Pro W, & I have come to the wiring...

The wiring instructions clearly show the X-axis X-min endstop cable as Red, the Y-axis Y-Min endstop cable as Black and the Z-axis Z-Min endstop cable as Blue, but earlier in the instruction document, where the cables are connected to each endstop, the colours are Red for the Z-axis, Black for the X-axis & Blue for the Y-axis. This is really confusing. I am pretty sure that I have connected the right endstops to the right socket on the board, but I just wanted to check.

Has anyone else dealt with this?

You should check the wiring is correct at first. You don't need to pay attention to the colour of it

Thanks William, I have done just that.

My point was that the wire colours randomly change in the instructions, so anyone wiring up their new Prusa should make their own notes on which endstop is connected to the Red, Blue or Black wires provided - & not just blindly follow the instructions.
