Print error

Post by Obewon 99 » Tue Mar 08, 2016 7:53 am

First thing I am new at 3d Printing, but I have built My I3 M201 and have had several good print successes. All my prints have been accomplished thru Repetier Host , so I started to try printing from from the the sd card , No success here , I can enter the sd card and find the file OK ,but I get "File type not Match" message on the LCD. I use the Save foe sd card function and it saves it as a .gco file on my hard drive then I copy it to the sd card . Either I have missed something here and haven't been able to find my error OR ? any help would be appreciated !

did you put the .gco file into any folders? If you do this then seems the printer will not recognize the files. And how about use the latest firmware? or use the "save for file" next to the "save for SD print" to check it again, will it work?

No I did not place the file in a folder. My firmware is Ver 1.0.4. I found that when I "saved file for sd card Print" it was saved as a .gco file and tried to print it I got the "file not match "error, but if I changed .gco to .gcode it would print. Also I found if I used "Save to File" it would print.

Now the main problem I have is getting the extruder head away from the print when it finishes , so it won't ruin the top layer of the print with a large melted blob of plastic. Not sure of what commands to enter where to move the head !!

thanks for your help

add a "G28 X0" command in the End-Gcode, so the X axis will homing after the print job.

I FOUND THEM YESTERDAY IN sLIC3R , BUT TO GET THEM TO WORK I ENDED UP COPYING THEM INTO "PRINT SETTINGS - SCRIPTS". That section of print settings was completely blank .

Thank You
