:lol: Hi,guys

the way about GT2560 4.0 unable to flash firmware and unable to print online

If your computer cannot automatically generate a serial port,
You need to install the driver manually;

For specific operations, you can refer tohttps://www.geeetech.com/forum/viewtopi ... RlcFtWdCG4

*The incorrect baud rate of the serial port may also cause the failure to connect. The correct baud rate is 250000.

PS:The printer needs to be turned on when upgrading

When you plug in the USB cable, the printer will not reset, which means there is no reset function;
The firmware needs to be reset (click Upgrade and from the local while pressing the reset button on the screen);
Or press and hold the reset button on the screen, click Upgrade and release the reset button.

Here are two ways to flash the hex firmware:

1.Update with cura

you can refer to this:
cura 更新固件.rar
(909.47 KiB) Downloaded 1134 times
Need to hold the printer's reset button while updating the firmware to update!!!

For specific operations, you can refer to:viewtopic.php?f=20&t=69704

2.Update with Firmware Toolkit

you can refer to this:
更新固件.rar
(1.63 MiB) Downloaded 1192 times
Need to hold the printer's reset button while updating the firmware to update!!!

For a consistent way to upload firmware on GT2560 4.0, please see vert 's youtube video

Here is his answer in another forum thread
viewtopic.php?f=20&t=69699&p=105577#p105579

The
"Need to hold the printer's reset button while updating the firmware to update!!!"

is not enough, not only you need to press and hold the reset button (before) upload,
but you also need to release it (the reset button) immediately after clicking "upload",
this way the bootloader will execute and "listen" at the correct timeframe for firmware upload to succeed ...

I did not have to hold the reset button down at all. I used software tool kit from geeetech site. But I had issues connecting to com port because the instructions never mention what baud rate to set com port to. After experimenting with different baud rates it flashed easy. Just took a bit to get the correct baud rate.

OK, what does "Hi, you need to correspond to your motherboard model." mean? I'm not a computer geek. I need an answer I can understand. Thanks for the reply.

:D Hi,If the motherboard information displayed on the screen of your printer is V3.1,
It is not possible to update the firmware of V4.0,
Because the motherboard types are different, the firmware cannot be used universally.

I hope this can help you.

Thank you, now I understand. So that means if I want to use Marlin 2 I have to change the mother board to a Ver 4 so that it will update?

Hi,You can find the firmware for marlin 2.0
Upload for your motherboard GT2560 V3.1 version,
The current official website version is marlin1.1.8,
No firmware changes are required if you can use the printer normally.
