Guys,

I would appreciate it if you REALLY TEST the firmware before you release it!

Installed it, tried printing from sdcard 3 times, every time printing stops after a few layers.
Not a pause this time, it really stops.

By the way, Firmware version in the menu says v1.0.3.
I thought this was v1.0.1?

Hi
Happy this year
My version in new M201 firmware is v.1.0.3 is that rigth. Find it in LCD>Control>Version .
I tested this new firmware and find it´s take some times a break or halt is rigth word.
When you press print > Pinting start homing X,Y and homing Z few times, then move hotend to start of print (Z=0.25 what is firstlayers higth) , and halt.
Hotend and heatbed are on. Have to press reset on printer, disconnect on Repetier Host. Connect on Repetier Host and put hotend and heatbed on again and wait until ready. Press print > and hope.
Some features bother. If you adjust mixing before you press print in Repetier Host. Mixing reset. I try to save mixer values but no effect.
Can somebody do something that PID control on LDC for heatbed or hotend. When you change values (heatbed take over 13min to reach 105C). Control affect the value of one hundredth. I think no need to effect so precisely and you need a drill to chance values to 100 down or up :) .
SD card have some problem to regonice file type. I use Slic3r G-code. Need information for that.

But when i get it print it is printing nicely and print job to end. Both Extruders work like you want (1% to 100% mixing) and filamet flow is steady.

Nice job.

Hello guys the firmware version is V1.0.3, will change that later. And the problems you guys run into, I have tested it for several times and turns out to be fine. So I don't know where the problem is, will test it agian to check it. BTY, did you guys set the correct baud rate 115200 and receive cache size 63 in the printer settings?

I think those are basic thing what everybody check before writing problems to this wall, yes they are 115200 and 63. I take Vcc of in USB cord and this is little bit calm that halting.
There is new feature or old but come up last printing session.
I can print 2h-2.5h like a 2cm-4cm up to bed. Then EX1 and EX0 start cloggin and slipping filament. Adjusting and nothing helps. In last printing EX1 kill one A4988 again, yes again. I order bunch of A4988 but they arent come yet. I don´t like kill things. Filaments are in non friction base. Teflon tube is about 35cm to hotend. No friction in tube. Manual feeding are powerfull. You can nearly keep finger in end of tube when you feed.
Hotend is in start 245°C (254°C*) Bed shut be 110°C but now 101°C* first 3 layers and fan off then its drop 237°C(246C*) hotbed 101°C(110°C*) then fan on to rest of printin max speed in now is 45mm/s. Filament flow is 10mm ic 1cm.
When start printing filament flow nice and steady when i use 10%/90% colors are mixing nicely (black EX0 and white EX1) to steel gray. No black or white spots.
But when it go to up 2cm -4cm it´s start again, jamming. So i have handfull 2cm-4cm high useles robot parts. I have to melt them whit acetone to "dip".

*In my working room have adjust and measured temperature +19°C (in this moment outside have -32°C, i and my working room are in FInland). Both hotend and bed temperature shows +10°C when they be in +19°C during a night.
That means we have 9°C error. Have plus every temperature 9°C so bed max temperature is really 101°C. I need least 110°C.
My headbed is made like this Heater plate + aluminium plate + 3mm mirror. Aluminium plate was badly curved when it arrive so i have to put 3mm mirror top of it.

Is this faulty from firmware, wrong adjustment, weak A4988, broken steppmotor, behind printer or what.

Maybe this is exactly right place to put this write. But a thing mostly is concern new firmware.

tested the firmware for a long time and never had a stop during the print job...I think you guys can check the new version later or check the A4988 and motor first.

This is no help at all.
I already tried version 1.0.3 which was released as v1.0.1.
It has errors, it is as simple as that.
When is it going to be fixed?

Hi

That´s right, this is leading any where. So i bend it from wire.
I don´t use PLA i use ABS. I don´t print vases,exept once.
I do solid small and big objects to my projects.
ABS need hotend temp 230ºC to 245ºC to melt nicely. Hotbed have to be at 100ºC to 110ºC.
If M201 wasn´t plan to use ABS you shoult say it.

In picture 1(bad_last_1) hotend don´t keep setting temperature 249ºC and also Repetier-Host picture shows how hotend temperature is wondering.
Also there is N-PID settings. It is nice to have manual for all the LCD setting.

Bad_last_2.jpg
Bad_last_2.jpg (79.28 KiB) Viewed 17794 times
In Picture 2 (bad_last_2) There is object when hotend is near bed. Everything goes fine because also bed is warming hotend.
In midle is printing least at 00:38 temperature hotend is still under setting 249ºC.
When hotend temperature goes down start glogging in extruders. Hotend can´t melt ABS. It is bad for A9488 and motors. Fortunatly i lost 2pcs orginally A9488 but 0pcs motors.
In bottom have print result. Not look nice.
I am not pleased this kind printing results. Cleaning hotend after every printing . Buying new A9488.
Now i been waist nearly 1kg roll filament to have nothing.

Bad_last_3.jpg
Bad_last_3.jpg (81.23 KiB) Viewed 17794 times
In the picture 3 have temperature different with hotend and hotbed in at 3min printer on. Not bed or hotend are on.
Room temp is 19.1ºC and hotend/hotbed is 9ºC. Differend is 10ºC down.
That is meaning if reading in hotend temp meter is 234ºC it is really 224ºC.
You have to minus 10ºC on reading and add 10ºC to setting. Complicated. Nice to have this fixed.
In middle have printings whit firmware v.1.0.1 or v.1.0.0 or ver.1.0.2 or what ever. Second version.
Bottom picture have prints whit firmware v.1.0.3 the last one.
There is some differnties between printing results v.1.0.1 (or v.1.0.0 or what ever) and v.1.0.3 are there?
None of object what areprinted v.1.0.3 aren´t finished properly.

SD-printing does not work.

I don´t argument this matter any more.

Somebody have to fix that firmware v.1.0.3 .

Hi

Yesterday happend something what turn everything upside down. GST32 prosessor stop function. Nothing works anymore.
LCD is two rows squares and fans are stil. Motors not work hotend and hotbed are cold. Brains are dead.

So that is onething what can´t blame for that is firmware.

Now i think there maybe was problem in GST32 card neither in firmware v.1.0.3.

Waiting new GST32 and those 2pcs burned A4988.
Then test firmware 1.0.3 again.

It´s come a long wait.
