extruder not pulling enough filament

I tried removing the plastic but I may have removed too much of it. Can you provide the .stl files of the mount? Are they available somewhere for download?

We need more details of it.
Which part?Could you upload a picture of it?

Another option is to take a screw with a rounded head about 1/4in / 10-15mm and invert it and insert into the spring. This will be a more permanent solution. I had the same problem and this seems to be working.

Hi all
I also have the problem where there are layers missing in the print
After much blue air and trials and testing I can summarise

I have calibrated the extruder and is extending at 102 % (programmed 100mm of movement/actual movement of 102mm)

It isn't spring pressure as when you inspect the filament teeth marks are present whereas if the pressure wasn't enough I'd expect to see gouging of the filament where the drive wheel continues to rotate against the filament

Removing the fan and heatsink and fixing the drive assembly in place with shorter screws I see that the drive wheel is jumping back. This is random, I can be 4mm off of the bed or 30mm off of the bed, it can be a few jumps or 2 layers.
I increased the voltage to 1.1 volts and this appeared to work even when increasing the feed rates to 400%
All this time I was running without the fan and started another model.
Dang blast it the jumping was present, worse than ever. The extruder motor was rather warm though so I've replaced the heatsink and fan and I'm letting it cool down as well as myself before I try again.
I figure to leave it until tomorrow so that I can spend at least a little of the Christmas break with my family!

I'll let you know how it goes

How is it going on?
Have you try to clean the hotend and adjust the extruder feeder?

I had the same problem. I removed the golden cooling part of the extruder, it runs only with fan. Finally there was No clicking sound and it works! If somebody has the same proble, try this. I think the feeding stepper stuck in the cooling part.

PS: dont screw the fan to tight to the feeder

If you remove the cooling part, it will print at layer height of 0.2 mm or smaller, but at 0.3 mm it is still skipping

You can refer to these:
1.Check the temp of the hotend at first,try to up it to 220C(For PLA)
2.Check the nozzle diameter setting from slice software
3.Try to check the hotend clogged or not,you can use the ejector pin clean it

I've got a similar problem:
for the first 2..4 layers my extruder is working corectly, but suddenly, at first less and then no filament is comming out.
When I push the filament in the extruder, I can push the filament for 10..20 mm with no resistance and then - with resistance - the filament is comming out normal.
I have changed the nozle, cleaned all extruder items, used other filament (PLA/ABS) but it is still the same.

Any ideas?
