Barrel / Nozzle Throat pipe clogged

Post by TheFlyingDutchman » Thu Jul 02, 2015 4:59 pm

Hi,

I finished the build of my Geeetech Prusa i3 C printer with the dual extruder. And the problem now is when I want to print something the barrel / nozzle throat pipe gets clogged with melted filament. quite quickly. Also the parts that I've tried to print didn't got enough filament, so the part was full of holes.

Anyone an idea where my problem could come from?

I had to take apart the extruder to figure this out, and now I accidentally also destroyed the thermistor, so I also need to replace that before I can get the printer working again.

Is the temperature of extruder high enough?

Yes, the temperature is 200 degrees, for PLA.

Yes, the temperature is 200 degrees for PLA.

I already had to buy spare thermistors, and spare troat pipes since I broke them accidentally.

One strange thing I can find in the menu of the printer is when I go to Control-> Filament -> it says - E in mm3 ON, while I'm printing with 1.75 mm filament. Should I update the firmware of the printer?

I'm also missing clear instructions for MAC users.
