Hello,

i bough this item a few days ago and i already received it. That is great.

The GSM shield do not register to any network.
I did put external +5V power supply 2A.
I can communicate with the modem and send AT commands.

The sim card is OK and PIN is OK I can read info from sim card.

Antenna seems to be well connected.
When i scan the network list, i can not see any network: AT+COPS=? +COPS: ,,(0,1,4),(0,2)
AT+CREG? +CREG: 0,0
My operator allow the use of sicard for any phone on any IMEI and i did test it on several opearator with several sim card. I am currently in france. So the shield does not seems to work properly. Can you help me. I already bough this kind of shield wihout any problem in the past.

Regards,

Of course i already tried that.

When i try to make an ATD i do have No DIal tone

Anayway the blinking led is blinking every 800 ms and not every 3 seconds, so definitely it is not registred onto the network.

As i said before, i do tested this kind of shield before without any problem.

There is no network seen onto the shield when i scan the network.

For example with another gsm card that is working properly :
AT
OK
AT+CREG?
+CREG: 0,1

OK
AT+CSQ
+CSQ: 85,99

OK
AT+COPS=?
+COPS: (2,"F BOUYGTEL",,"20820",0),
(3,"Orange F",,"20801",0),
(1,"F SFR",,"20810",0),,(0,1,3),(0,2)

OK
I can see the networks, i do have a signal strengh.

With the "faulty" card, no network is seen, as if the antennas was not working (i checked it, it is well connected, and antennas is well inserted). I did put an external power supply (5V DC, 2 A) onto the shiled, i did put the switch to EXT as it is external power supply.

But no chance, that is definitely not working. I tend to thik the unit is faulty.

just to show you the result with the "faulty" shield

RDY

+CFUN: 1

+CPIN: READY

Call Ready
AT
OK
ATD0695588888
NO CARRIER
AT+COPS=?
+COPS: ,,(0,1,4),(0,2)

OK

my results:
RDY

+CFUN: 1

+CPIN: READY

Call Ready
AT
OK
AT+COPS=?
+COPS: ,,(0,1,4),(0,2)

OK
AT+CREG?
+CREG: 0,0

OK
CREG 0,0 means Registration in progress

in your example +CREG: 0,4 means: not registred

yep, it seems that everything is ok, but as if the shield is not able to catch any signal, as if there was an antenna problem unable to catch the GSM radiowave.

I had a look at the antenna connector and it seem all right as well.

I do not know what i can do by now.
