my net light (the green one) flashes every 800ms, not 3s.

I have waited for hours... I dont think waiting is the issue. I have full reception and the error is repeated with 2 SIM cards. It appears to be a faulty shield.

Hi, yes have checked both of these. I have 5v 2A power and have double checked the antenna.

Sure, it's pretty simple. I have connected the 3v battery, the 5v power supply and the USB cable to the PC. I have the jumpers set as per default (software) and the power set to external.

I have Putty running on PC to communicate to port allowing the AT commands i sent earlier.

When I hold the power switch turning on the red light, the green net light flashes, but cannot connect to the network it seems.

Anything else you need to know?
