Rostock g2 lcd screen lockedup/ MINTEMP error

Post by qmehling » Wed Apr 20, 2016 1:02 am

Hey guys hope you can help me out.

Yesterday I was testing and calibrating the unit after firmware update install. I tested the bed and hot end heats to make sure things were up to par when the power went out due to high winds. Now when I power on the unit or connect via USB, the LCD is locked up and I cannot connect via Arduino.

Using OS 10.6, The system profiler isn't showing it in the Device manager anymore either.

maybe the board is damaged during the power problem, regarding to the temp errors, you can check out this link to see if the board is damaged or not:

Hot plate and hot end thermistor showing as open/ bad
Power supply I get 10.89Vdc on both legs.
USB LED is on
Heat bed and Hot end LED is on
4.99Vdc at the spot near the MOSFET
Hot bed and Hot end fuse I get 10.88Vdc, both sides.
MOSFET #2 leg is 9.6Vdc
MOSFET #1 is .5 maVdc

Looks like I need to order thermistor's and power supply, possible new board?

I went ahead and ordered replacement parts. Power supply, PSU and thermistors.

I did however adjust the trim pot on power supply, I get 11.1Vdc now. I figured the board would be bad since the LCD wasn't responding. Hopefully this will be a simple plug and play. Thanks for the help.

Parts came in and replaced. No errors until i tried to home out. Z tower would be only axis to move during home command. I could move each axis separately without a problem. I reinstall firmware and now I have 'MINTEMP" error again.

On initial startup after replacing Board, It said "Ultimaker". Z tower would home out hard while the other towers wouldn't move. All three axis would move independently until the home all. I re-installed firmware from your site, now shows "mintemp" error just like it did with the other board after firmware re-install. Am I needing to change PID settings or other setting related to thermistor?

this is the code from the firmware I installed as is:

all is good, I resolved my situation. i moved the hotbed thermistor to the farthest away from the reset button (extruder 1) reset board, got a "MINBEDTEMP". I then replaced both thermistors and reset, reconnected to repetier and powered up. Now display says "Delta G2 Ready", unit homes out, heats up correctly. Going to calibrate later on tonight.

Thanks to Icarusfacto's post.
