geeetech prusa i3 extruder bracket scrapes glass

Post by uncommongrafx » Thu Dec 31, 2015 9:38 pm

Good day,
I have assembled and successfully tested the motion. However, I am reticent to attempt to print as I see a potential problem. Hopefully, someone here can allay my fears or provide a fix that won't cost me waiting for something on a boat.

As I look at the front of my printer, the bracket holding the extruders is lower than the extruders. See pic.

There are no examples I can find showing this metal bracket and how it is supposed to look. In my motion tests, this bracket touches the hotplate (glass was not attached, thank goodness) and I could see it stressing the hotplate with the extruders 5+mm from the hotplate.

Can someone assist me in getting my printer working so it's not self-destructive?

With appreciation,
Robert
