Geeetech Rostock mini configuration file

Hi, I have a Geeetech Rostock mini and I am trying to swap the hot end out for an all metal one, this one to be exact:
http://www.geeetech.com/metal-longdista ... p-789.html
My issue now is this one is significantly larger, so I need to edit the configuration file. The thing is I don't know the diagonal rod dimensions and such, I do know that the Sanguinololu 1.3a that came with the printer worked out of the box. I remember at one point it would let me change the max Z in repetier host, but now if I change it there, the printer doesn't recognize the change and my hot end rams the bed because it still thinks it has the original clearance I set (183.0mm).
I was wondering two things:
1: Is there any way to change the Z-max without reuploading the firmware?
2: Is there any way that I could get the configuration file that came preuploaded on my printer (Geeetech Rostock Mini with Sanguinololu) It says it is Marlin 1.0.0 and Last Updated Dec 22 2014 17:40:24 | Author (Eddie, Sanguino 1.3)
Any help would be much appreciated thank you in advance.
