unable to print anything after firmware update.

Post by theju » Tue Nov 12, 2019 3:34 am

Hi,

I've tried to install a BL touch, and I flash my new A20M (v2?) with the official firmware found on geeetech github.

I was unable to have a correct bed level, I've remove the bl touch and I flash the same firmware without BLtouch support.

The result is catarstrophic, unable to print anything, the temperature seem to be not correct. I need to put temp at 255 to make something and it is not really satisfiyng. It seem to be under extrud, but th extruder are cooroectly calibrate.

I've found in the forum there was ring in the hot end, I decide to dismount it and look inside. My 2 laines are not the same ! In one, I found a cooper piece and in the other a silicone? ring.
Remove them does anything, print are realy awfull ...

Also tried to flash vert Vé marlin > same thing.

I buy this brand printer to replace my home made wood printer because I was tired to make changes every printe. What a deception with this printer !!!!

If someone has some clues or idea ...

Thanks in advance.

:D Hi, If you are referring to firmware with 3d touch,
You can refer to this for an update: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=17046

You can provide a specific picture of your problem so that we can solve the problem better.
-Keep your mind and try to test it. :)
-Everything will be fun!-Support all Getech printer.

Thank for your response.

At this moment, I don't care about the BLTOUCH, I've remove it waiting my printer works again.
My controler card seems to be a new version (marked as 3.1), no firmware specific for this card, I used github and Vert's to test -> same thing.

I've read the FAQ here : viewtopic.php?f=108&t=61882 :
  • My ptfe tube is correctly insert, about 3.5 cm in the hotend.
  • I've clean my hotend according to the procedure
  • The extruder spring seem's to be OK
For me, ther is 2 options, as the problem seems to be about the hotend :
  • Bad thermistor (will check resistance today) or misfconfig in Marlin ? I use type 1 as thermistor in Marlin. Maybee it is another thermistor ?
  • Extruder problem : Like I say, the 2 tubes where I put the PTFE are not the same inside :
In the left one, I found this piece of cooper :

In the other, a sort off plastic ring, or maybe PLA ? (I've no photo for this, sorry)

I've remove both, changed the nozzle, same result, to low temperature and under extrusion, the extruder is ripping.

Thanks
Ju

I've just test my thermistor, read 157 khoms, with is exactly the same as my other thermistors (it's 15°C in the garage)

My Marlin config lokk good :

Code: Select all

#define TEMP_SENSOR_0 1
So the last thing I see is a hotend problem like many others ?

Hi, I find this:https://github.com/caesar1111/Geeetech- ... UGLLw0IqLw

Thank you William,

That is what I've made expect some parts (I did not seal the throat with silicon)
And effectivelly, my hotend is not complete If you look a the first image, there is 2 cooper screens, I only have one... I'll try with the support to have new hroat

For the thermistor part, support tell me it is a PT3-25E2-S2, do I need to use type 1 or 5 in Marlin configuration file ?

Hi, regarding the thermistor at the hot end,
you do not need to modify it if you have not changed it.

It is really strange, before update I can print at 190°C without any problem.
Now at 240 °C I have problems to print (same PLA)

Did someone know where to buy only 2 throat with the cooper screen ? (like photo here :https://github.com/caesar1111/Geeetech- ... is-melting )

I did not find any spare parts except complete hotend, I am wrong ?

Regards, Julien
