As for the fan sockets,there are 4 ones(3 common fans and 1 PWM fan) for fans on the motherboard in total.

1)The firmware issue,maybe your thermistor is not the same type as the firmware.
2)The socket of your extruder's thermistor was broken somehow,you can plug one jumper cap to it then check the display of your LCD(it should be 358 degree or maxtemp).

Did you feel the retraction with your hand and check the direction of your extruder motor(maybe move upward always?) when that happened?
