Re: Z Axis: Home is fine, printing too much distance between layers

It does sound like the firmware is setup for the finer screw thread. You may have the better course thread with 4 starts which requires less stepper motor turning. What z axis resolution is set in the eeprom firmware (I assume you are using Repetier host) ?

Re: Extrusion problem

Do you have the correct distance set between the nozzle and glass. You will need to pre heat the extruder and slide a piece of paper in between on the four corners. It needs to be a firm slide and may need a bit of trial and error until you get all four corners even. Also make sure the glass is very...

Re: Adding cooling

Thanks for the reply kaktus

It seems that Geeetech are telling porkies about their PWM fan output because as far as I can see PWM fans have 4 pin headers. +v 0v tach and the speed control via a square wave timer to control power at a constant 12v unless I am missing the point.

Hi kaktus

I think I know what you mean. The link I refer to was found on the amazon page where I bought the printer

Re: Printing problems

My limited knowledge points to an overheating issue. Either the head is too hot 200 should be good or lack of cooling on hot end.
I don’t know if this is of any help or not

Adding cooling

Hi I have assembled my i3 pro b printer and it is working fine apart from I now need to add a cooling fan to the hot end. I have 2 spare 3 pin fan slots available on the 2560 board. Fan 2 and PWM fan. Which is the best one to use and how do you control it in the Repetier host program. I am using the...

Re: Acrylic left and right mount bad cutted

I had a similar problem on mine but it was only on one of the uprights. I had to file it so it was more square. When I put it all together it seemed to square up fine.

Re: Lead screw upgrade

Hi I have just upgraded my lead screws on this printer for the same reasons. The ones I bought were 8mm with a 2mm pitch with 4 starts. Using the calculator it works out to be 1600 so sending M92 Z400 (1600/4 for 4 starts) gcode to the printer followed by M500 to save worked perfectly for me. The pr...
