Re: Warning: Geeetech MeCreator2 Y-belt tensioner can cut through cables!

Sleeved cable does move and bend to different positions during back and forth Y movements. It doesn't hit always and it took 1,5 years of casual use before I noticed the issue. But I had seen fine shiny dust on printer much earlier, so cutting process must have been slow and long. I should have inve...

Warning: Geeetech MeCreator2 Y-belt tensioner can cut through cables!

It is hard to take good photo, but it has already cut big hole to sleeve. The tensioner could easily get stuck to that hole, or it could eventually cut or grab a electronic wire and do more serious harm to the printer. Problem could have been prevented, if tensioner was flipped to other side of the ...

Re: spare parts?

In your case, your local vendor is Amazon and they have pretty good customer service. If they dont have the part, they probably can tell you more precisely where to contact.

And if you need to buy new part, contacting Geeetech's sales department may be more successful than technical support.

Re: MeCreator2 for Slic3r Prusa Edition

I updated the settings to include good supports (if enabled) and to turn off bed after print (I had accidently changed wrong gcode).

Because it is opening post in topic, it went again under review. So please wait if it is not visible.

MeCreator2 for Slic3r Prusa Edition

If someone else wants to experiment with Slic3r, here is my setting file. I often tweak something for each print, but this is pretty good base configuration. Usage: 1) Unzip (this forum didn't allow me to attach .ini file) 2) Import MeCreator2.ini to Slic3r PE: File -> Load Config Bundle Made with t...

Re: Firmware for geeetech 3D printers

William, I am still confused with the firmware for MeCreator 2. Since there are a lot of cool new features in Marlin, I want to upgrade to Marlin V1.1.4 I guess, If I use EasyPrint I will get Marlin V1.0. that is unsatisfactory. I am familiar with Arduino and the Marlin code (configuration.h. pins....

Re: Firmware for geeetech 3D printers

William, which Marlin version will I get, if I update via EasyPrint? You'll get firmware V1.0.03 which is precompiled version of the same Marlin 1.0.2 that is provided in the first post of this topic. It seems to be quite common that manufacturer's stays with old and tested version instead of follo...

Re: Me Creator 2

Two stepper drivers were adjusted to 0.87v and two to 1.13v. I guess motors are the same model, so I did adjust them all to ~1.1v. This didn't help the Z problem. The drivers are not labeled, so I'm not sure which is for which motor. It is hard to measure, but I think leadscrew is tilted less than m...

Re: Me Creator 2

My Z gets stuck on ~150mm for no clear reason. Max height should be 160mm, but when it hits that certain point, it won't move up or down anymore. If I tell bed to go up and same time help the lead screw by turning it gently, it starts to move again. I haven't actually printed anything that tall, I d...
