His Americana electric guitar features the statue of Liberty, New York Skyline and more of the cities iconic structures. Even though it is a playable instrument, there are options to modify the design of the guitar according to the users’ needs. For example, pick-ups and necks are something that can be tweaked in co-operation with the artist himself. Diegel was unable to print the guitar himself, he sent his design to Dutch company Xilloc, who printed it using SLS technology on their EOS M400 printer. The result? Headphones are more personal as compared to speakers and so we would want it to be customized just the way we like. Here comes the part of creativity and innovation. Startups have emerged to take advantage of the personalization capabilities that 3D printing presents. Normal and OwnPhones are two firms that are in the business of 3D printing earbuds tailored specifically to the ears of customers.

You heard me right !!! You can print your favourite piece of music. Combining  3D printing augmented reality and music, Reify has successfully transformed sounds into objects. Through additive manufacturing, they are able to print sculptures that represent your favourite piece of music. Using a smartphone application, the sculpture can be scanned, identified and come alive to the rhythm of music in augmented reality.

3D Printed Music Box

Print your music box the customized way you want it to be, this service was developed by a startup LFL. The Music Drop allows you to create your own 16-note music box and watch online as it’s 3D printed for delivery. Also, Philipp Tiefenbacher, who decided to develop a music box model using a 3D printer, which also just happens to be available for download on the Thingiverse platform. It is made in 6 pieces and has to be assembled. Extra care has to be taken while printing the notches for the music box to deliver a proper sound.

A manufacturing and an innovative architecture company called Monad has developed 5 instruments that can take the form of musical instruments.These pieces include a piezoelectric violin, several stunning guitars, and even a grand piano. Their most ambitious instrument will be a Grand Piano! It is undoubtedly the most architectural of all the instruments since it has its own structural system.This particular piano has been developed as if it had large windows that expose the interior sound percussion machinery. It will be a collaboration with Blüthner, a very prestigious German piano firm, and Lucid Pianos, a Spanish firm.
