Extruder Not Heating

Post by Marco_p » Wed Feb 15, 2017 5:38 am

Hello,

I bought my 3D printer some months ago (Geeetech Unassembled Prusa I3 X 3D printer DIY kit). I have not been able to print because I cannot heat my extruder. I have already followed all of the processes in this web page: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=17039. All of the resistances and voltages give me the right measures, the LED light as indicated, and the thermostats also work.

My potentiometer is also working, I have also measured the voltage.

I never could find something that was not working as indicated, so I bought a new GT2560 and a new Extruder. The extruder cannot go over 30 degrees. I do not know if it may be a firmware problem.

Please help.

PS. My heatbed heats perfectly.

Maybe you can try reflashing the firmware for your ProX:
1)Download it:
download/file.php?id=1589
2)Upload the firmware again after that by referring this post:
viewtopic.php?f=13&t=17181

Then did you check if you have the thermistor cable of your extruder0 correctly connected to the board?
Could you attach some picture of your LCD status and wiring on the board?

Bang,

Thank for your help. I already reflashed the firmware, but nothing came up. the thermistor cable is connected correctly. Even though, the hot end never gets hot.

Here I am attaching some photos on the wiring. Sorry they are a little bit shitty.

Here is the thermistor reading the ambient temperature.

Here it is after 45 minutes, with the "Heat PLA" option on the panel board. As you can see, the bed has been heated to 70 degrees, although the extruder does not go above 26 degrees.

This is the reading after 15 minutes since I sent the order of heating from the computer.

Okay, maybe the component(the mosfet controoling the heating of extruder) on the board had a problem.
You'd better refer to this post to verify it:

the mosfet LED lights are on. Therefore the mosfet should be in good shape. And I have another GT2560 which, also, does not work. What could it be then?

If it is in this case,i guess the heating cartridge of extruder was broken.
Did you test the resistance of it like the attached post above?

Did you replace the heating cartridge and fix the issue?
