'Singing' (and noisy) extruder

Post by Geeeko » Fri Jan 03, 2020 12:50 am

One of my extruders (number 3) is extremly noisy. It does make a sound, almost like a tune, varrying depending on the percentage applied to it.
Does someone have an idea about how this could be fixed/improved ?

:D Hi,Can you hear where the sound comes from?

A cooling fan on the motherboard voice?

If you can reduce the sound, you can try to replace it with a silent driver board.

The noise comes from the extruder driver. The printer has one month and printed very few ;/ That said it seems working, just very noisy.

I think that it could be mechanical reason - did you tighten your printer?

Mixing sometime does crazy sounds. Try to use rubber or cork dumper between extruder and frame.

TIP: tight all screws and wheels (except right side of Z axis) and re-align frame while assembly. And silence it.

@Jarda3D, I'll give a shot to untigh a bit the screw on the frame althought I don't see why this one would be noisy and not the two others (unless it is unfunctional).

@William,
I'm not sure to understand the question. Do you mean the motherboard ?
In case of here a photo of the driver back:
