Replacing the glass on the heated be of A10

Post by Hbar » Fri Aug 24, 2018 2:36 am

The glass on the heat bed of my Geeetech A10 needs to be replaced. Is there any information on how to replace the glass? It looks like it's glued to the metal bed

yes, all glasses are glued onto the heatbed.
i'ved never heard that everyone could change the glass only. i'am thinking it's better to replace the heatbed completely....

This is an interesting situation, Geeetech support is going to send me a replacement glass for the heat bed but NOT the heatbed saying it is not damage, when I questioned about how to replace the glass on the heat bed they responded to come here to this forum to find the answer.

Sounds interesting and they make it easy to say: look into the forum...... :?

You could heat up a corner from the bed with a external fan heater and carefully try to tell the corner with a spatula.
Thats all i can think of.
And do it carefully! Use safety goggles!!!

It can work easily or it can also damage the heat bed permanently. I'll see when the glass arrives, maybe it comes with instructions

Hi

Instead of using a spatula, you can try using a very thin steel wire to cut through the adhesive.
The ease with which this operation can be carried out will depend on the type of glue used.

:D

Some glue, at elevated temperatures, begin to lose its adhesive properties. ;)

What good reason would there be to replace the glass plate, except of it being broken?
