I was half way through my first print on a brand new printer. Everything was going great and the print was looking very good. The LCD suddenly went out and printing stopped. The power light was still on in the back of the unit. I power cycled the unit and the LCD will not come on. There is no response and i cannot print anymore. Is there anything I can do about this? Please help.

Hi,
You can try to check the PSU output voltage at first.
If you don't know how to ,you can attach the photos of the wires.
We will help to check it.

I tried plugging in the USB to my PC and the LCD powers on. It looks like the power supply really isnt supplying power even though the power light comes on. It even has enough power to heat the bed. but the usb cant supply enough power to heat the extruder more then a few degrees. Seems like i need a new power supply. Does this seem correct to you?

Hi.
:geek:

Do you mean the one on the power switch?
What is the status of the LEDs on the controller board :?:

here are 2 pics of the board. The first one is on wall power and the other is on usb power.
when i plug in wall power only the console will not light even though the switch light is lit
when i plug in usb only the console comes on and everything seems ok but it will not heat the bed or extruder
when i plug in both the console comes on and it will heat the bed but the extruder will only heat a few degrees hotter very slowly. it will never come anywhere near operating temperature.

could it be the 15A fuse on the board? Thank you for any help

I took the tiny 10A fuse out of the board and tested it with a multimeter. it failed. the 15A fuse passed the test

does the 10A fuse have something to do with the screen? does the 10A fuse send power to the extruder?

if the 10A runs the screen and/or extruder then this must be my problem. hopefully it is the only problem.

if the 10A fuse does not power the screen then why does the screen no longer power on when i am on outlet power only?

Hi.

What worries me is what I saw in the first photo.
  1. No confirmation of operation of the step down 5V inverter.
  2. Two heat sinks at the bottom of the controller
.

The first may be caused by a burnt fuse,
The second may cause a short circuit.

Which fuse is responsible for what I will respond to you a little later.

Which two wires in the picture lead to the heating element on the extruder? I want to test the resistance of the extruder heating element but i cannot figure which two wires go to it.

Hi.

Extruder connector is black, angular.
You can check the layout of the signals in the diagram.
