Print head just dragging back and forth in the print

We're new at this. We got the printer set up. Successfully got the file that came with the printer printed, no issues.

Then we made a few things on Tinkercad. Imported them into EasyPrint3D. Sliced them, and saved them to an SD card. Tried to print those. We have tried a number of different things; both ones that we made, and ones that were already designed by people who actually knew what they were doing on the internet. None of them printed successfully. All of them did the same thing... went to the upper right hand side of the bed and started printing, but the print arm never really raised, it just keeps dragging the print head back and forth through PLA and it starts building up around it until it's clear the motor is straining, and then I cancel the print.

I am clearly missing something here. Help.
