What Firmware am I using

Post by BoltonBill » Fri Oct 18, 2019 5:14 pm

Hi I'm new here so Hi everybody and thanks for letting me join the forum. I have just bought a printer secondhand that uses a Geeetech 2560. The printer is smaller than my prusa i3 but looks the same as it. It came with an sd card containing one file on it that is a grbl print file is that right do they use grbl? Can it load any other files to print? Is it possible for me to find out what firmware has been loaded and also can I find out all the settings that have been loaded in the 2560 board. I know it's lots of questions to ask all at once.
Thanks for any help you pass on to me.

:D Hi,If it refers to the test file that is included in the sd card.
The .gcode file can be printed via the sd card.
To store such a file, you first need to slice the file in STL format through the slicing software (such as Repetier Host, Cura, etc.).
Import the generated gcode format into the sd card for printing.
If you print for a long time, it is recommended to use the sd card for printing.
Regarding the firmware, it will display the firmware version used when you turn on the printer.
I hope this can help you
