I3 pro C no z movement

Post by B-bones » Mon Sep 04, 2017 2:10 am

So I've just bought and assembled my first 3d printer. I followed the instructions and it took a while but its all finished.

The problem I am having is that the z axis is not homing. When I use the printer and tell it to home, it moves both x and y to home but z shifts up a cm then stops. I have no z optiob in move screen either. Same when I plug it in on usb. I have put new firmware on it but it was the same before (hence why i updated).

Could I have installed something wrong?

Could you provide a video about your issue? You can put the video on the YouTube or google drive or another platform.

You do not get the option to move the Z axis 10mm, only 1mm at a time from the display.

In the video you said Z kept going to zero? Is the end stop plugged into the correct port? Are the wires on the correct pins on the switch?

I worked out that I had the z axis end stop plugged in wrong. So that mystery is solved.

But I still have no control over the z axis from the lcd display.

I think you should re-upload the firmware for your printer. The post you can refer to:
