I have installed firmware on my rostock mini g2s pro but have problems.
If I clear log on fepetier host and hit reset button on lcd2004, the software reports Marlin 1.0.3 dev
And my lcd screen is blank...cannot control printer from repetier host.
Earlier I had installed firmware reporting as Marlin 1.1.0-RC5

WHAT MARLIN Version should I be seeing?

BTW .. The firmware that came installed with the printer also reported as Marlin 1.0.3 dev
I had no motor control with it either.

Interestingly, the Marlin 1.1.0 RC5 version at least held the steppers, while the other leaves them free to move by hand.
I may have a faulty lcd2004 since it never gave me the menu even when display worked with original firmware.
I am quite frustrated.

You can download the firmware for your G2S here:
http://www.geeetech.com/forum/viewtopic ... 20&t=17046
It's based on marlin 1.0.3 dev.

And the motors, first make sure they are all correct connected, and then check the driver voltage as this link shows:
http://www.geeetech.com/forum/viewtopic ... 17&t=17038

Also the LCD, you might have mixed the wirings of LCD and SD card, check out this link:

How long should the upload take? I Have a brand new Geeetech Prusa i3 x, and have followed these instructions, but the Arduino software seems to be freezing on the upload (now going on 10 minutes). I have previously communicated and printed via Repetier, so I know com is OK. I'm on Windows 10, using Arduino 1.0.1, as instructed.
Thanks for your help.

it is better to power it up, not just the USB cable, this will speed it up.

Thanks. Does it usually take longer than 10 minutes to flash? Arduino IDE compiles, then stalls at "uploading". Not sure how long to wait before assuming something is not working.

Hi,

I'm having trouble to make my Delta G2S work.
First, I'm getting the 2 lines of squares at the LCD. To try to solve that, I'm trying to update the firmware, but I'm getting the "avrdude: stk500v2_ReceiveMessage(): timeout" error.

I'm using Arduino v 1.6.8 in a Mac with OSX El Capitan.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks,
Gustavo

Hi William,

Thanks for your answer. Actually, the solution was very simple (but hard to find out). Due to a minor misalignment when I assembled the LCD panel, the reset button was continuously pressed...

Tks anyway.

Gustavo
