As a followup to the extruder not turning.... It was firmware. I was sent new firrmware and it worked when I powered down the printer and just let the board be powered from the USB port to reflash it.

The issue was resolved with a new firmware flash. To get it to work, I had to power the board with just the USB with the printer off.

6. Open folder "I3_Sanguinololu"(files of Marlin firmware), select all the files (59 in all) and drag them into arduino.
Could you add a link to I3_Sanguinololu? There is no such a folder in standard Malin firmware, as it, for example, can be downloaded from
https://github.com/MarlinFirmware/Marlin

I download already the Arduino 1.0.1 and the sanguino-0101r1 , but I just can not found where is the 13 Sanguinololu
