A20M : what stepper driver it uses?

Post by 3DAngel » Tue Aug 06, 2019 2:11 pm

hello all,
I tried VERY hard to search what stepper driver board this printer uses.
I don't have mine yet (it is coming)...
But shouldn't this important info be included on the specs from Geetech?

This is important to know as for what micro stepping the system can handle and what step/mm it should use, am I right?
thanks for your feedback!!

Will the stock board take TMC2208 or TMC2209 stepper drivers?

If your board is the GT2560 rev3 it should work. I'm using TMC2209 on it (with Marlin 2.0). You'll have to build your own firmware to make sure drivers configuration is set. Very silent on XYZ. I had to lower the retraction speed down to 30mm/s on extruder motors though. Retraction makes a horrible noise above 30 and I'm still trying to change that. Don't know if tweaking the voltage XXXX, . I'm also trying to tweak StealthChop2, SpreadCycle and Linear Advance parameter, but so far, I can't go above 30...

Hi ThaDogg, please can you share what brand and version of the TMC2209 you are using on your Gt2560 and how you have connected them? Seriously considering this as an upgrade but don’t want to end up with parts I can’t use 😀
