Re: 3d-touch pin falls during printing

I walked away & left it printing, rather stupidly. Pin dropped again, after about an hour of my 5 hour run, caught on the print & mangled everything. I now have to go back, re-calibrate everything again & check to see what, if anything, got bent or broken in the carnage. Thankfully, it was only left...

Re: Pro W - Extruder slipping

It turns out that it was a dead A4988 on the extruder. I replaced it, & it all started working again. I will continue testing things, & see how it goes.

Re: 3d-touch pin falls during printing

it dropped less. I only counted it dropping once during my last print, but I might have missed some. It's still not right though.

Re: 3d-touch pin falls during printing

OK, I've soldered all the connections, just in case it makes a difference. Basically, I'm clutching at straws at the moment, trying anything & everything to get my 3D-Touch working properly... Naturally, I'll post the results back here.

24v PSU upgrade

If I was to upgrade my existing 12V 15A Geeetech PSU to a 24V 20A PSU, am I right in thinking that all I would need to do is to just plug it straight into my GT2560A+ board using exactly the same cable configuration - then change the soldered cable connection to the hotbed from the 12V to the 24V co...

Re: Connector names

Brilliant. I found the info on http://www.soliforum.com/topic/12778/fan-connectors-on-geeetech/ Posted by someone called tranzoo The fan uses a JST PH, 2mm, 3-pin connector. The Thermistors and Endstops use a JST XH, 2.5mm, 2-pin connector. You can buy them on eBay with leads, eliminating the need f...

Re: 3d-touch pin falls during printing

I hope that the 8th day of the New year brings me luck in fixing these problems, as I expect that the Geeetech Engineers will return to work then (February 23, 2018). Best wishes, & I hope that the Year of the Dog brings us all happy 3D printing.

Pro W - Extruder slipping

My Pro W Extruder has started slipping. It now makes a loud clicking sound. I have increased the voltage, which reduced the clicking, but alas did not eliminate it. I upgraded Marlin to 1.1.8, but unfortunately that made no difference at all to the extruder problem either. If I manually hold the ext...

Re: 3d-touch pin falls during printing

I have replaced my extension cables with a set that I made myself. They use 24 AWG wire, bought from a trusted local supplier, so I know that they are good for the +5v needed to power the solenoid. OK, they still have Dupont connectors on them, but I wasn't willing to cut wire & solder stuff today -...
