Re: Rostock 301 extruder motor not able to push filament

I have done this, René. Even at the maximum voltage, the gear does not turn. (I'm trying to upload a video but I can't seem to do it.)

Re: Rostock 301 extruder motor not able to push filament

I don't quite understand, René. The extruder motor often stops when it cannot push the filament. It makes a clicking sound when it tries to turn but does not turn. The extruder gear is tight enough and does not slip over the filament.

Marcus, Pending you posting your Simplify3D config files for people to review and comment, you might want to look at this link: http://www.hermanmeijer.nl/3dprinter/simplify3d-rostock-301.html Herman describes his experience with Simplify3d and the 301, and posts a video showing his settings. --Dave

Re: Rostock 301 extruder motor not able to push filament

Thanks, René. I've followed the discussions with you and others closely, and I think I have done all the corrections. The gear does not slip on the filament at all, especially with my metal extruders. I have tried the entire range of voltages and it does not seem to make much difference to the motor...

Re: Rostock 301, new firmware changelog

I've narrowed down the processor on the GTM32 Pro to a STM32F103VE which has 512k flash memory. There is an Arduino IDE board file for this in the link I posted before. I'm out of my depth now but I wonder if generic Marlin Delta firmware could be loaded and run. I imagine at least the pin assignmen...

Re: Slicing with simplify 3d ... Rostock 301 pause on each r

Hi Marcus, I'm sorry I can't answer your question about Simplify3D but I'm interested in how you got your 301 printing well. Did you have to make any mods that others have discussed, like changing to metal extruders, raising the stepper voltage, etc? No matter what I have done, my stepper motors can...

Re: gcode end

Actually, the main problem is in the printer firmware, at least for the 301. Delta printers are supposed to ignore the x y and z flags in the G28 command. Geeetech tech support is aware of the problem and has said their engineers will fix it in the next release.

Re: Rostock 301 extruder motor not able to push filament

As others have reported, the filament comes out a little but the force required causes the motor to stall/skip. I have tried 2 hot ends, the latest test being with a brand new, clean unit. I have some small .4 mm drill bits and they can be inserted so the nozzle hole is correct. It seems that some p...

Re: Rostock 301, new firmware changelog

You are correct for a single extruder. However, the firmware only looks at the temperature of the first hot end and reports that temperature for all 3, which is OK for a mixing hot end. But in a dual extruder setup, the temperature of the second extruder would not be controlled properly. Also, it wo...

Re: Rostock 301, new firmware changelog

Hi John,

I'm trying to get "board info" with various STM32 board managers right now. So far all I get is "unknown board". However, that is probably returned independent of what board is selected.
